Hayden Yaros exploded for three goals and an assist in Mona Shores’ 7-5 victory over Zeeland West on Thursday in an O-K Green soccer contest.

Diego Godoy netted a goal and dished out an assist for Mona Shores. Ibrahima Ndiaye, Aiden Anderson and David McNiff also scored.

Ethan Brown, Abe Freye and Easton Lopez added their names to the score sheet with one assist each. Tyler Ross got the win in goal, stopping four shots.

The Sailors improved to 6-2 overall and 5-2 in the conference. Their next game is Saturday at Holland West Ottawa.

ZEELAND EAST 1, REETHS-PUFFER 0 – The Rockets outshot Zeeland 10-5 but could not score the equalizer .Freshman Liam Smith came close when one shot hit the crossbar,

Goalkeeper Gage Hopkins had four saves on the evening for Reeths-Puffer. Darren Patterson and Jaxon Carpenter also performed well.

R-P is now 1-4-4 overall and 1-4-1 in the conference.

LAKES 8

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 6, MANISTEE 0 – The Warriors snapped a two-game losing streak by blanking conference rival Manistee.

The Warriors led 1-0 at halftime on a Beau Campbell goal. Campbell then added two more goals early in the second half to complete a hat trick.

Caleb Kozal, Matt Minasian and Brandon Enigenburg added one goal apiece. Jacob Aemmer had two assists while Charlie Buursma, Lulo Mafahala and Matt Minasian all contributing one.

Goaltender Joey Eastway posted a four-save shutout.

The Warriors are now 5-2 overall and in conference play.

LUDINGTON 6, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 0 – Parker Wendt’s hat trick led the Orioles past the Crusaders in Lakes 8 conference action. 

Mason VerStrat, Bruce Thompson and Nick Patterson all netted single goals for the Orioles.

Thompson also finished the night with two assists, while Brendan Anderson, Noah King and Colin Anders added their name to the score sheet with single assists.

Ludington improved to 5-3-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

WHITEHALL 8, ORCHARD VIEW 0 – Bailey Taranko buried two goals to lead the Vikings in scoring. Denver Aguirre, Dylan Osborn, Casey Lownds, Evan Mikkelson, Sam Stevens and Jace McKinley all found the goal once.

Kayden Brandel and Yahir Gonzalez both had two assists to set up goals while Isaac Tenbrink and Guillermo Vergara had one assist each.

Whitehall is now 7-0 on the season.

NORTH MUSKEGON 1, SHELBY 0 – North Muskegon’s Jack Injerd scored the game winner about 20 minutes into the first half, with Ryan Peoples getting the assist.

Goalkeeper Leighton Hunt had a seven-save shutout in the win. Jack Erne, Zach Mallon, Mason VanWyck and Nolan Mallory stood out on the defensive side for the Norse, who improved to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
