The Western Michigan Christian baseball team split a non-conference twin bill on Tuesday defeating Newaygo 4-2 in the opening game, then falling by a 7-2 margin in the night cap. 

In Game 1, Sam Sipe dominated for 6 ⅓ innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out nine batters.

Jonathan Clausing led the Warrior offense, picking up two hits and two RBI’s.

The Warriors stole seven bases, Sam Liggett collecting three swipes of his own.

In Game 2, Liggett and Ethan Hill led the WMC offense with two hits apiece. 

The Warriors are now 1-2 overall this season.

ZEELAND EAST 6, MONA SHORES 0-The Sailors drop the opening game of a double header to O-K Green Conference rival Zeeland East on Tuesday.

The second game was suspended due to darkness after the fourth inning with the Sailors leading 2-1. 

Brady Rose allowed one earned run and one hit over five innings in Game 1. Aaron Piasecki picked up the lone Sailors hit. 

ZEELAND WEST 6, REETHS PUFFER 2- The Rockets dropped Game 1 of a double header, then jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the sixth inning before the game was suspended due to darkness.

In Game 1, Alex Orchard led the Rockets offense with two hits. Kaleb Mitchelson pitched four innings while striking out three batters. 

In Game 2 Jaxson Whitaker pitched five innings, recording six strikeouts and only allowing one hit. 

Whitaker, Mitchelson, Connor Paugh, Kaden Edwards and Alex Johnson all reached base multiple times.

Game 2 will be continued on Thursday.

The Rockets are now 0-1 on the season.
