The Muskegon Catholic baseball team clinched a share of the Lakes 8 conference championship on Friday with a 6-1 victory over Orchard View.

Max Price earned the win from the mound for the Crusaders, allowing three hits and striking out 13 batters. The Cardinals’ Owen Swanson took the loss.

Gabe Johnson and Dewey Modaff each landed two hits for the Crusaders, and Sam Convertini had one hit and drive in two runs.

Jacob Peterman led Orchard View with one hit and one RBI.

Muskegon Catholic moves to 15-7 for the regular season and 10-2 in conference.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 18, HOLTON 4 – Mason Goorman, Caleb Kozal, and Sam Sipe all pitched against the Red Devils, allowing five hits, four runs, and striking out three batters between the three of them.

The Warriors totaled 15 hits on the night, with Kozal, Sipe, Cloe Crabtree, Sam Liggett, Jonathan Clausing, and Jared Olsen each landing two each.

Eight players had RBIs on the night, with Sipe and Liggett knocking in three each.

FRUITPORT 5, WHITEHALL 1 – Mayson Whitlow pitched the first six and one-thirds innings for the Trojans, allowing one hit and one run, while striking out 11 batters. Dillion McWilliams finished the game with the final two strikeouts.

Aaron Sander led Fruitport in hits with two on the night, followed by Gavin Reames, Cody Nash, and Blake Hronek with one each.

REETHS-PUFFER 11-5, JENISON 3-12 – Kaleb Mitchelson earned Reeths-Puffer the win in the first game, allowing only two runs from the mound.

The Rockets took the lead in the fifth inning, scoring eight runs from hits by Ayden Willacker, Jeremy Ardshahi, Alex Johnson, Trent Reichert, Jaxson Whitaker and Connor Paugh. Johnson,

R-P fell in the second game. Alex Orchard led the Rockets with four hits, followed by Kaden Edwards with three and Jaxson Whitaker with two.

Reeths-Puffer is now 20-7 overall and 13-4 in league play.
