Western Michigan Christian captures Lakes 8 volleyball title

Western Michigan Christian volleyball secured the Lakes 8 title on Saturday with a sweep of Orchard View and Ludington.

The Warriors topped OV 25-15, 25-18 and 25-5 while breezing past Ludington 25-7, 25-10 and 25-16.

Kyala Wiersema led the Warriors with 33 kills, 22 digs and eight blocks while Kendal Young had 54 assists. Maddie Wiersema had 27 digs six kills, four blocks and three aces.

Abby Leffring proudced four blocks, three kills and three aces. Haley Breuker had 17 digs and two aces, Ashley Folkema had 11 kills and Hannah Heiss made 19 digs. Emily Fett added assists.

WMC is now 41-5 on the season and visits Reeths-Puffer with Spring Lake and North Muskegon on Thursday.
