The Muskegon Lumberjacks did not have many answers for visiting Team USA in their 8-4 loss at Mercy Health Arena on Friday night.

The Jacks fell behind early in the first period by giving a goal in the first 41 seconds. They trailed 3-1 at the first intermission.

Ben Strinden scored Muskegon’s lone goal of the opening 20 minutes.

The second period was no different for Muskegon, except this time it let Team USA find the back of the net in the first 15 seconds.

The Lumberjacks’ struggles continued through the rest of the game as talented Team USA continued to dominate.

Jacob Braccini led Muskegon with two goals while Jake Richard had a goal and an assist. Joey Larson had a pair of assists in the loss.

Muskegon returns to Mercy Health Arena on Saturday night when it again hosts Team USA for a 7:10 p.m. puck drop.
