MUSKEGON–Western Michigan Christian took both ends of a Lakes 8 Activities Conference baseball doubleheader from Orchard View, 15-0 and 16-3 on Tuesday afternoon.

Game 1 went only four innings, with junior Sam Sipe striking out five and not walking a batter on 39 pitches to pick up his first win of the season.

Sam Liggett had three hits for the game, all doubles. Ethan Hill also had three hits, while Jamie Cho and Caleb McKay each had three runs batted in.

The second game was stopped after five innings. Alex Wagonmker, a freshman, got his first varsity win allowing one run on one hit and three walks and struck out six.

Wagonmaker also helped himself at the plate with three hits, while Liggett and McKay combined for five RBIs.

“The guys were itching to get out on the field and finally play some baseball, and it showed,” said Warriors head coach Mark Hill. “We were hot at the plate, our pitchers were outstanding, and our fielding was solid.”
