MANISTEE — Dominating the competition from start to finish, the Muskegon Mona Shores girls swimming and diving team cruised to a lopsided 135-55 victory over Manistee at the Paine Aquatic Center on Thursday evening.

The Sailors won all four relays and took first in all but one individual event.

Sydney Sytsema, Susie Van Baale, Delaney Buckner and Robyn Hunt combined for a first place in the 200-yard medley relay (2:04.21); Sytsema, Naomi Huttenga, Hunt and Buckner won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:51.29), and Huttenga, Isabella DeJonge, Eva Stout and Marilyn Gaston took first in the 400-yard freestyle relay (4:22.62).

Hunt won three individual events, the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.23), the 100-yard freestyle (1:09.23) and the 100-yard backstroke.

Other individual winners included Van Baale in the 200-yard freestyle (2:26.26), Buckner in the 50-yard freestyle (26.90) and the 100-yard breaststroke, and Stout in the 500-yard freestyle (6:24.73).

Second places were recorded by Gaston in the 50-yard freestyle (26.90), Hollen Emmick in the 1-meter diving (128.55), Millie Curow in the 100-yard butterfly (1:28.47), Huttenga in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.86), and Van Baale in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.59).

Manistee had an individual winner in Lauren Mezeske in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.39). She also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:14.51).

Second places for the Chippewas were recorded by Annika Arendt in the 200-yard freestyle (2:28.51) as well as the 500-yard freestyle (6:53.20).
