Kent City falls to Morley-Stanwood in conference tournament, finishes as runner-up

GRANT – The Kent City volleyball team finished as runner-up in the CSAA Conference-Silver Tournament on Saturday.

The Eagles got by Newaygo in the quarter-finals (25-13, 25-7) and Central Montcalm in the semi-finals (25-14, 25-10).

The Eagles advanced to the finals where they fell short against Morley Stanwood in two sets (25-15, 25-23).

Lexie Bowers led the production with 22 digs, 16 kills and seven aces, while Maddie Geers added 24 digs, 17 kills, six blocks and two aces.

Susan-Joy Rau thew in six aces with three blocks and Kaden Perkins had 24 digs and four aces.

Also, Jacee Hoffman contributed 43 assists and 17 digs.

Kent City (30-5-2) will see Morley Stanwood again on Wednesday, November 2nd in the Division 3 district semi-final round. The action will take place at White Cloud.
