Cook, Russell lead Mona Shores girls to win over Zeeland East

NORTON SHORES –The Mona Shores girls basketball team cruised by Zeeland East on Friday, 49-26.

It was Shores’ fourth victory in the OK Conference-Green.

The Sailors raced out to a 27-12 lead over the Chix at the half.

The Sailors extended their lead in the third quarter as they outscored Zeeland East, 16-7.

Khaleeya Cook led Mona Shores with 15 points while Laynie Russell chipped in 10 points.

Maddie Russell and Lauren Hylland each added six points.

Mona Shores (9-4, 4-1) will host Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday evening.
