SPRING LAKE — The Spring Lake Lakers gave second-place Holland Christian all it could handle on Friday night.
The Maroons, who hold down second place in the OK-Blue Conference, hung on for a 49-45 victory.
Spring Lake was led by Ella Andree with 19 points and three assists. Alexa Carter added nine points and eight rebounds while Brooke Bolthouse had five points, three rebounds and three assists. She was lauded for her solid defense by Coach Rich Hyde.
Holland Christian was led be Jenna VandenBrink with 14 points and Bria Lampen with 11 points.
Holland Christian is now 13-5 overall, 8-2 in the OK-Blue.
Spring Lake (7-9, 3-7) hosts Hudsonville Unity Christian on Tuesday.
