GRANDVILLE – The Mona Shores girls lacrosse team held on to earn its first win of the season against Grandville on Monday evening.

The Sailors claimed the league victory, 10-9.

Mona Shores, playing its third game in four days, built up a lead of 8-5 by the half and held off Grandville in the second half.

Elana Kass led the way with a hat trick while Lainee Carmean and Emma Reelman each added two goals. Reese Smith, Allison Fritz and Jessica Eenigenburg each contributed one goal.

Goalkeeper Alex Keurth earned her first varsity victory in net with 10 saves.

Mona Shores (1-3, 1-1) will be at home on Wednesday against Grand Rapids Christian.
