NORTON SHORES –The Western Michigan Christian girls soccer team blanked Covenant Christian 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

“I thought that we played well for it being the first game back from spring break,” said WMC coach Jared McFarland. “We were able to connect some good strings of passes along that created some good chances.”

Brooklyn Watts led the attack with a pair of goals with assists from Kaiya Betten and Nadia Burr.

Solid play at midfield was also crucial in the victory for the Warriors.

“Bri and Alia Zuidema had a very strong game in the midfield,” McFarland said. “Alia was instrumental in our forward attack and Bri was critical in defense as she thwarted multiple attacks by Covenant.”

WMC will be back at home on Thursday to host Wellspring Prep.
