KENT CITY– The Hart Pirates captured the title in the Kent City Elite Invitational track meet on Friday.

A total of 22 teams competed in the eighth annual event.

Hart amassed 176 points to take home the trophy. The Pirates were followed by Berrien Springs with 168 points and the White Cloud Indians came in third place with 149.

Other local team scores included: Fremont, 5th place (114), Whitehall, 7th place (97), Montague, 13th place (70), Kent City, 15th place (66.5), Ravenna, 16th place (48.5), Newaygo, 17th place (41), Western Michigan Christian, 17th place (41), Oakridge, 19th place (39), Holton, 21st place (6) and Grant, 22nd place (4)

In the girls’ division, Pewamo-Westphalia finished in the top spot with 204.5 points. They were followed by Berrien Springs with 183.5 and Lawton with 158.5.

Hart finished in fourth place with 148 points. Other local scores included: White Cloud, 6th place (107), Whitehall, 8th place (72), Oakridge, 9th place (69, Montague, 12th place (56.5), Ravenna, 12th place (56.5), Kent City, 14th place (53.5), Western Michigan Christian, 16th place (41), Fremont, 17th place (37.5), Grant, 18th place (29), Newaygo, 19th place (27) and Holton, 21st place (22.5).
