CENTRAL MONTCALM — Kent City earned a pair of softball victories on Tuesday in dramatic fashion.

In the opener, the Eagles scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning and won, 6-5. In the nightcap, Kent City held on for an 8-6 victory.

In Game 1, Cailynn Hartzell led the way with three hits. Lexie Bowers added a pair of hits.

Jacee Hoffman was the winning pitcher. She allowed three earned runs in nine innings of work. She had 10 strikeouts.

In the ninth inning, the Eagles played two runs on back-to-back singles by Hartzell and Savannah Miller. In the bottom of the ninth, Hoffman stranded the tying run on third base with a groundout and a pair of strikeouts.

In Game 2, the Eagles scored two runs in the first and for in the second to grab the early lead.
 
Abby Pecynski had three hits, one a double, and two RBI. Hartzell had two hits and Hannah Stellini had a triple.
 
Hoffman pitched seven innings and allowed six runs on eight hits. She had six strikeouts.
