SCOTTVILLE — Ludington’s girls softball team went 0-2 Saturday at the Larson’s Ace Hardware Invitational tournament at Mason County Central in Scottville.

“We struggled today,” said Ludington coach Sierra Holmes. “We made too many mistakes and gave up too many extra outs. That being said, I also have to give credit to the teams we faced for continuing to put pressure on us.”

In their first game, the Orioles lost to host Mason County Central, 17-11 in a game that went four innings.

Sam Hanson was in the circle to start the game for Ludington and threw the first 1 1/3 innings, giving up just one hit, but walked five and struck out one.

Jody Meisenheimer relieved her and pitched the final 2 2/3 innings, scattering five hits, walking three and striking out two.

Leading hitters for the Orioles included Mya Bryant who was 3-for-3 with a double and triple with three runs batted in. Ayiana Rangel went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a RBI.

Keeley Curtis was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Taesyah Hendricks had a double and drove in two runs.

In the second game Ludington faced a hot-hitting Hart team and lost 18-0 as Hanson pitched all three innings, allowing seven hits, walking six and striking out one.

Rangel had a double and Meisenheimer had a hit for the only safeties registered by the Orioles.

Ludington fell to 4-12 overall.
