LUDINGTON — Ludington’s baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Kingsley, losing the opener 11-10 and winning the nightcap 4-1 Monday afternoon.
Nathan Dillehay was the starting pitcher for the Orioles and worked 3 1/3 innings.
Gage Jones led the Orioles at the plate with two hits, both home runs, including a grand slam. He finished with six RBI. Ryan Kandalec was 3-for-4.
Aris Knoll picked up the win in the nightcap throwing six innings and allowing seven hits.
He also went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs. Matthew Westhouse had a home run.
“Our guys never quit,” Ludington coach Evan Kroeze said. “We were down 9-2 in the first game and came back to give ourselves a chance to win.
“We hit the ball hard all night. We hope to continue building as we get closer to the districts.”
The Orioles (12-15) travels to Ravenna on Thursday.
