MUSKEGON — The Spring Lake Lakers used an 11-hit attack in their Division 2 pre-district baseball game on Tuesday and defeated Orchard View, 11-2.
 
Gerrit Lyyski belted a three-run home run in the top of the first inning that got the Lakers rolling. It was the first of four hits for Lyyski, who also had two doubles and a single. He had four RBI.
 
Oliver Smies added two hits and Zach Schlepp scored two runs.
 
Four Spring Lake pitchers combined to allow two hits and strikeout 15. Zane Stahl started and pitched three innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. Will May pitched one inning and struck out three. Lyyski pitched two innings allowing one hit and struck out five. Ryan Grimm stuck out three in one inning of work.
 
Spring Lake (17-13) will play host Oakridge at 10 a.m. Saturday.
