NORTON SHORES — The Mona Shores Sailors used a 16-hit attack on Tuesday and defeated Grand Haven 11-3 in a Division 1 pre-district baseball game on Tuesday.

Pitcher Jaxon Huffman went six innings and allowed two runs and struck out seven. Trevor Cunningham came on to get the final three outs.

Javanni Johnson bashed a two-run homer among his three hits. He drove in three runs and scored one.

Zack Keessen added two hits, four RBI and scored a run. Huffman helped his own case with two hits, including a home run in the first inning. Isaac Habetler, Bryson Belanger and Ethan Ring each added two hits. Jayden Ammeraal had a two-run single.

Mona Shores (24-8) will host Muskegon in the district semifinal at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The 10 a.m. game pits Reeths-Puffer and GR Kenowa Hills.
