MUSKEGON — It was a battle from start to finish on Friday night under the lights at historic Marsh Field.

In the end, the North Muskegon Norsemen had two baseball victories over rival Oakridge. NM won the opener, 5-4, and the nightcap, 2-1.

In the opener, Troy McManus pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs. He struck out six. Ben Meyers had two hits, one a double, and scored two runs. Sam Gallo had two hits and two RBI.

Michael Wambaugh led Oakridge with a pair of hits and an RBI. Evan Miller had one hit, a triple, scored two runs and drove in a run. Brody Jennings took the loss on the mound.

The nightcap featured strong pitching from start to finish. 

Logan Simko pitched four innings and Ryan Delora three for North Muskegon. Simko had five strikeouts and Delora had three. Meyers and McManus had two hits each. Meyers had a double. Delora added at triple and Carsen Moat had a double and two RBI.

North Muskegon plated two runs in the sixth inning and earned the victory.

Oakridge finished with three hits and five walks, but only managed to score one run. Matt Danicek pitched a complete game for the Eagles. Romero Serrano had a hit and scored a run. Miller knocked in the lone Oakridge run with a triple. Caleb Osinski had one hit for the Eagles.
