KINGSLEY — It was a disappointing finish to the season for the Ludington baseball team, which lost to Gladwin, 8-0 in the Division 3 district baseball tournament in Kingsley.

Jonny Weinert took the loss on the hill, pitching 6 1/3 innings and allowing six earned runs on 10 hits.

Gage Jones drew two walks and had one hit on offense, while Ryan Kandalec also had one hit.

“Today was obviously disappointing, but we don’t feel like the score represented the effort our kids put in,” Ludington coach Evan Kroeze said. “We gave ourselves a chance to win going into the sixth down 1-0 against a great Gladwin team. Unfortunately, we didn’t capitalize on our couple scoring chances, and had one bad inning in the field.”

Ludington wound up the season 13-16.
