MUSKEGON — Get out the brooms because the Muskegon Clippers just took care of Jet Box again on Thursday night.

The Clippers swept Jet Box in the three-game series to start the season with an impressive 10-0 victory at Marsh Field. The Clippers (3-0) will look to keep the winning streak alive on Friday night when the Royal Oak Leprechauns (1-1) invade Marsh Field.  Friday’s game begins at 7:05 p.m.

Thursday’s game was called after seven innings due to the mercy rule.

The Clippers scored one run in each of the first two innings and two more in the third to take a 4-0 lead.

Stoney Smith scored on an error in the opening inning to get the Clippers on the board. In the second inning, Donovan Rinehart produced a run-scoring double.

Aidan Arbogast belted a two-run homer run in the third inning and an RBI single in the sixth. That run made it 5-0.

Muskegon put up five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and ended the game.

Sheehan had a two-run double and Danny Passinault had a two-run single. The Clippers also scored on a sacrifice fly.

Arbogast and Passinault each had two hits for the Clippers. Arbogast had four RBI, Passinault had three and O’Connor added two.

Drew Zittel started on the mound for Muskegon and went six innings. He allowed three hits and struck out four. Charlie Branch pitched the final inning and struck out two.
