Kent City volleyball team finds some success at Reed City Invitational

REED CITY –The Kent City volleyball team went 3-2 and fell in the semifinal match at the Reed City Invitational on Saturday.

The Eagles went through pool play with wins against Traverse City Christian (25-17, 25-17) and Evart (25-11, 25-13), but lost to Ludington (10-25, 10-25).

In bracket play, the Eagles opened with a win against Grant (25-14, 16-25, 15-12), but dropped a match against a tough Petoskey team (19-25, 19-25). 

Kaden Perkins had 50 digs and eight aces while Maddie Geers had 46 digs, 39 kills, six blocks and three aces. Cailynn Hartzell added 74 assists and three aces.

Kent City (9-5-1, 1-0) will host Manton and Ionia for a tri-match on Wednesday.
