NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores volleyball team had another strong showing and went perfect in a home tri-match on Tuesday.

The Sailors took down Fremont in three straight sets (25-14, 25-16, 15-7) and squeezed by Whitehall in two sets (26-24, 25-21).

Grace Allen had 17 kills while Jersey VanderWall and Cece Gappy added 11 kills apiece. Kyann Hellmann had 40 assists with 18 digs. Izzy Sturtevant threw in 25 digs while Mallory Hogston and Laynie Russell had 25 digs and nine kills, respectively.

Fremont fell to Mona Shores and Whitehall (14-25, 21-25, 15-10).

Kendall Barnhart led the Packers with 14 digs 11 assists, nine kills and three aces. Mia Clemence made 11 kills with three aces and Baylah Parker had 20 digs. Taylor Waite made three blocks. 

Monta Shores (12-3) will open OK Conference-Green action at home on Thursday, Sept. 7 against Reeths-Puffer. 

Fremont is set to travel to Grand Haven on Friday. 

Whitehall will also be at home on Tuesday, Sept. 5 against Oakridge.
