RAVENNA – Hart and Ravenna’s boys soccer teams took things down to the wire on Monday, ending in a 1-1 tie in WMC action.

Hart senior Tyler Larios-Mendez kicked off the evening with a goal nine minutes into the first half. Larios-Mendez scored off a penalty, putting the Pirates in front 1-0.

Both teams traded possession in the first 40 minutes with Hart keeper Miguel Escamilla being called on often. Escamilla made 10 saves in that period, including one on a penalty kick.

It wasn’t until three minutes into the second half that the Bulldogs answered back with a goal of their own. Finding the top left corner of the net, Ravenna evened things at 1-1.

Hart moved to a 0-6-1 conference mark with the tie and will look to etch a tally in the win column when they host North Muskegon on Wednesday.

Ravenna now sits at 3-5-2 overall and will head into the season’s home stretch starting with an away contest with Ludington on Wednesday.
