FREMONT – Mason Tuttle provided just the spark the Orchard View Cardinals needed on Friday night.
 
Tuttle was the workhorse back with 28 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 32-13 road victory over the Fremont Cardinals.
 
Tuttle scored on runs of 50, 2 and 21 to lead the Cardinals (3-3). He scored on the 50-yard run, which was followed by a 1-yard touchdown run by Enrique Gutierrez and OV led, 16-0. Fremont got on the board when Jacob Burns caught a 35-yard pass from Talen Reichert-Slater to cut the deficit to 16-6.
 
It wasn’t until the fourth quarter when the Cardinals struck again for a pair of touchdowns. Tuttle scored from 2 yards out to make it 24-6 then from 21 yards out to make it 32-6. Fremont capped the evening’s scoring on a 6-yard run by Khai Noordyk, who finished the game with 15 carries for 84 yards.
 
Reichert-Slater completed 11-of-25 passes for 109 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Burns caught three passes for 45 yards and one score while Owen Hertel caught five passes for 46 yards.
 
Fremont’s defense was sparked by Connor Pettis with 13 tackles, Kyler DeKuiper with 12 and Levi Wimmer with 10.
 
Orchard View travels to Oakridge next Friday to take on the Eagles.
 
Fremont will host Montague next Friday.
