KENT CITY – The host Kent City Eagles were able to run the ball on Friday night.

However, finding the end zone against the Reed City Coyotes was another story.

The Eagles rushed for 283 yards, but scored just one touchdown in a 40-6 loss to Reed City.

Caden Hartzell rushed 18 times for 184 yards and scored the lone Eagle touchdown on a 42-yard run.

Carson Gorton added 65 yards on 16 carries.

Kent City gained just 13 yards in the air on 2-of-4 passing.

Zachi DeVoogd and Andre Meade led Kent City in tackles with six each. Jake Perry had five stops.

Next week, Kent City heads to Kalkaska for a non-league encounter.
