KALKASKA – Kent City made the long trip north and brought home a 24-6 victory over Kalkaska on Friday night.

The Eagles scored 12 points in the opening quarter and increased it to 24-0 at the half. Kalkaska scored its lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Carson Gorton opened the scoring with a 6-yard touchdown run. The next touchdown came on a 26-yard pass play from Arin Sarres to Caden Hartzell.

In the second half, the Eagle defense produced a touchdown on a fumble recovery by Hartzell.

The final touchdown was a 3-yard run by Andre Meade.

Hartzell was the leading rusher with 10 carries for 50 yards. Goron added 11 carries for 39 yards and Joe VanOefellen had 34 yards on six carries.

Carres finished 2-for-4 passing for 31 yards.

Cory Pecynski had 13 tackles, two for loss, and one sack. Zach Devoogd had nine tackles, four for loss, two sacks and he forced two fumbles. Hartzell added eight tackles, two for loss and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Kent City caps the season next week at Grant.
