REMUS – The Ludington Orioles’ girls cross country team captured the title at the 2023 Late Season Warrior Invitational on Saturday.
The Orioles finished with 57 points. Fremont finished sixth with 164, Newaygo was 12th with 296 and Oakridge was 13th with 312.
Ludington was led by Summer Brower, who finished second with a tie of 18:54.77. Annabelle Lowman was fifth at 19:13.58, Nadia Grierson was 15th at 20:54.45, Autumn Brower was 19th at 21:08.20 and Mackenzie Keillor finished 20th in 21:27.22.
Fremont’s Linnea Paige was seventh in 19:44.60.
In the boys’ race, Reed City won the team title with 59, followed by Fremont with 96. Ludington came in fourth with 110, Oakridge was 13th with 359 and Hesperia was 14th with 371.
Fremont was led by overall winner Sean Pettis (15:44.11). The Packers other scorers included Carter Sherman in seventh place (16:34.97), Issac Romero in 18th (17:21.52), Cole Lowery in 26th (17:43.27) and Evan Christoffersen in 50th (18:30.06).
Oakridge’s Peyton Ruel finished 10th in 17:03.13.
