Mona Shores drops fifth set in loss to Zeeland East

Mona Shores did all it could in its loss at Zeeland East on Tuesday night in an O-K Green volleyball matchup.

The Sailors pushed the Chix to five games, falling 26-28, 25-16, 17-25, 25-23 and 15-13: The loss was Mona Shores’ first conference loss of the season.

Kyann Hellmann paced the Sailors with 38 assists and 18 digs, while Jersey VanderWall totaled 14 kills and four blocks.

Mona Shores was also led by Grace Alllen with 13 kills and Izzy Sturtevant tallied 20 digs.

The Sailors fell to 22-4 overall and next play at home on Saturday in a quad with Grand Haven, Western Michigan Chrstian and Reeths-Puffer.
