Mona Shores takes care of Muskegon in OK-Green volleyball tournament opener

NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores volleyball team opened the OK Conference-Green tournament with a strong victory on Tuesday.

The Sailors breezed by Muskegon in three sets, 25-4, 25-11, 25-11.

Kyann Hellmann had 28 assists, three aces and three kills, while Izzy Sturtevant had 14 digs and five aces. Grace Allen and Mallory Hogston had 10 kills and six kills, respectively.

Jersey VanderWall, Laynie Russell and Skyler Maclachlan each chipped in four kills.

Mona Shores (28-5, 7-1) will host the GMAA city tournament on Saturday. 

Muskegon will travel to Wyoming next Tuesday.
