KENT CITY – The Oakridge volleyball team finished on top at Kent City’s Dig Pink Invitational on Saturday.

In pool play, the Eagles lost to Calvin Christian (16-25, 14-15), but took down Ravenna (25-10, 25-19) and Tri County (25-16, 25-16).

The Eagles moved on into bracket play and topped Zion Christian (25-19, 25-22) and Kent City (25-22, 25-16) in the first two rounds.

The day’s opening loss was avenged as the Eagles bounced back to defeat Calvin Christian (25-11, 25-20) in the finals.

Madison Babinec racked up 50 kills, 10 blocks and five aces, while Mallori Whipple had eight kills and six aces. Gracie Willea added 99 assists and scored six aces. Ahria Dornbos contributed nine blocks, six kills and five aces.

Host Kent City went 4-1 with wins over Orchard View (25-6, 25-13), Zion Christian (25-7, 25-16), Holton (25-15, 25-21) and Tri County (25-6, 25-17).

Maddie Geers led Kent City with 63 kills, 41 digs, six aces and four blocks, while Kaden Perkins had 40 digs, 17 kills and nine aces. Cailynn Hartzell added 104 assists and three aces.

Oakridge will travel to Montague on Tuesday.

Kent City (19-8-1, 6-1) will play host to Remus Chippewa Hills on Tuesday.

Ravenna is set to be at North Muskegon on Tuesday. 

Holton will be at Hart on Tuesday.

Orchard View will host Whitehall.
