ALLENDALE – The Spring Lake girls cross country team earned a spot in next weekend’s state finals with a third-place finish in Saturday’s Division 2 regional meet.
 
The Lakers finished third with 79 points. Grand Rapids Christian was the regional champion with 32 points, followed by Zeeland East with 74. Fruitport finished sixth with 169 points.
 
Kyla Meyers finished in the Top 10 to lead the Lakers. She finished seventh with a time of 18:40.38.
 
In the boys’ race, host Allendale was the winner with 41 points, followed by Grand Rapids Christian with 52 and Holland Christian with 96. Spring Lake was fourth with 112 and Fruitport was sixth with 163.
