GRAND RAPIDS – The Greater Muskegon co-op swimming team earned their best finish in nine years at the Ottawa Hills Invitational on Saturday.

The Turtles swam to a fourth-place finish with a score of 450.

Despite missing a quarter of their team, the Turtles posted 24 season-best times and 11 personal record swims.

Sydney Sytsema had a second-place finish in the 50 free (26.78) and fourth-place spot in the 100 free (58.43). Eva Stout came in third in the 100 fly (1:07.47).

Marilyn Gaston, Susie VanBaale, Stout and Sytsema were third place in the 200-medley relay (2:04.26). Gaston Stout, VanBaale and Sytsema were fourth in the 400-free relay (4:08.91).

Hollen Emmick earned a fourth-place spot in dives with a personal and season-best score of 258.60. Gaston had a fifth-place finish in the 100 fly (1:09.71) and VanBaale was fifth in the 100 breast (1:15.02).

The Turtles will be at home for Senior Night against Holland on Tuesday.
