The Holton girls’ basketball team started the contest on the right foot and maintained a stranglehold as they cruised to a 69-17 win over Fruitport Calvary on Friday in a non-league contest.
The Red Devils jumped out to a 25-5 advantage after the first quarter, led 39-7 at halftime and had a 55-11 lead going into the final period.
Abby Fowler paced Holton with 19 points, 15 of them in the first quarter, along with six assists and four steals.
Lexi Bartolameolli added 14 points for the Red Devils, while Aubrey Goyings chipped in five points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Ryann Robins added a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
The Eagles were paced by Cassie Dodd with six points.
Holton is off to a 3-1 start.
