FLINT – The Muskegon Community College Lady Jayhawks dropped the first game of the Mott Community College Round Ball Classic on Friday.

MCC lost to Schoolcraft College 71-52.

The sluggishness continued in the second half, especially on the defensive boards. The Ocelots scored on eight offensive rebounds in the second half.

“It was a tough game today,” MCC coach Jason Cooper said. “We didn’t play our best. You can’t play the way we did against a good team like Schoolcraft. I believe we will respond better in our game (Saturday).”

MCC (5-4) was led by Ty’veonna Davis with 19 points and eight rebounds. Remo Sponseller added 12 points, four rebounds and three steals. Arrionna Williams had nine points and McKena Wilson had eight. Alexis McMahon had six rebounds.
