The Mona Shores girls’ basketball team let their halftime lead slip away on Tuesday night in a 45-42 loss to Zeeland West in O-K Green action.

The Sailors trailed 16-13, but went on a 17-9 second quarter surge to take a 30-25 advantage at halftime.

Zeeland West went on a 9-3 third-quarter run to take a 34-33 lead heading into the final quarter, then closed out the game by outscoring the Sailors, 11-9.

Katie Phillips paced Mona Shores with 12 points, while Khaleeya Cook scored 11 and Logan Clausen had 10.

The Sailors are now 6-7 overall on the season and 2-4 in league play.
