HESPERIA – Fletcher Thommen went undefeated as the Montague wrestling team split a pair of matches on Wednesday.
“We chased the competition tonight and it just didn’t go our way individually,” said Montague coach Kristoffer Maddox.
The Bulldogs fell to Orchard View (45-30) but topped Mason County Central (45-33) thanks to a crucial pin by Tyler Risch at 175 pounds.
“Improvements are being made each match,” said Maddox. “We put our best three against MCC’s best three, bumping all three up a weight class to see competition. We came out on the short end of those matches tonight, but we were able to see better competition.”
Montague will be at Holton on Wednesday.
