MUSKEGON – The Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team, aided by a strong performance from Brooklyn Tornes, snapped a five-game losing streak with their first win of the season.

Tornes was just shy of a double-double with 23 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and six steals in the 52-38 victory over Jenison.

The Rockets went up 24-8 at halftime and managed to hold off a Jenison in the second half.

Megan Barnes added 14 points and Irelyn Nicklasch grabbed seven rebounds.

Reeths-Puffer (1-5) will kick off OK-Green play as it hosts Mona Shores on Friday.
