HESPERIA – The White Cloud boys basketball team punched their ticket to the Division 3 district final with a 53-50 comeback win over Ravenna on Wednesday evening.

The Indians opened with a 16-10 first quarter advantage but were outscored in the second quarter to trail 25-23 at the half. The Bulldogs ran with the lead and the Indians found themselves down 10 points through the fourth quarter.

Crucial 3-pointers and free throws down the stretch allowed the Indians to claw back the lead and keep their hopes alive.

“Proud of our team and how they handled the pressure at the end of the game,” said White Cloud coach Bob Jones. “Could have just given up several times but we battled our way back even though we didn’t play our best.”

The Indians’ Noah Robinson led all scorers with 22 points, while KJ Strait and Jared Watson threw in 10 points apiece. Jayden Robinson added six points.

White Cloud (17-6) will be back at Hesperia on Friday to take on a tough North Muskegon squad.

Ravenna closed out the season with a 13-11 record.
