HUDSONVILLE – Fruitport’s DayDay Williams had a strong night on Friday night against Hudsonville Unity Christian.

Williams scored 24 points in the Trojans 79-50 loss to the Crusaders.

“DayDay is playing his best basketball of the season right now, and even though we lost this game, it was great to see him handle the ball and finish like he did tonight,” said Fruitport coach Steve Erny.

The Trojans battled and trailed 39-31 after the first half.

“We played a very solid first half and competed hard,” said Erny. “Unity Christian is an excellent team.”

Also for Fruitport, Nate Carlisle scored six points. Ryan Bosch and Kyle Burke each chipped in five points.

Fruitport (4-14, 0-10) will travel to Coopersville on Tuesday for a league contest.
