Geers leads the way for Kent City in Division 3 district victory over Ravenna

KENT CITY – Madelyn Geers scored 15 points and led the Kent City girls’ basketball team to a 57-22 victory over Ravenna on Wednesday in a Division 3 district semifinal contest.

The Eagles led 14-0 after the opening quarter, 28-6 at halftime and 46-14 heading into the fourth.

Kent City’s Kenzy Freeland added nine points and Laynee Hoffman had eight.

The Bulldogs were paced by Addie Gillard and Mattison Crowley with eight points each.

Kent City will host NorthPointe Christian at 7 p.m. Friday for a Division 3 district title.
