FRUITPORT – Izzy Hanson-Wilbur’s double-double propelled the Fruitport girls’ basketball team to a 44-33 victory over Montague on Wednesday in Division 2 district semifinal action.

Hanson-Wilbur scored 17 points while pulling down 10 rebounds for the Trojans. Kenzie Pate added 12 points. Ashton Olson had 10 rebounds and Rhiannon Raleigh chipped in seven boards.

The Trojans jumped out to a 9-5 lead after the first quarter, 20-16 at halftime and 35-28 heading into the fourth.

The Wildcats were led by Adilynn Peterson with 11 points and four rebounds, while Braylyn Bultema and Addison Pranger each added eight points and seven rebounds.

The Trojans (7-17) will host Spring Lake at 7  Friday for a Division 2 district title.

Montague finishes the season with an 8-14 overall record and 6-7 in conference action.
