KENT CITY – The Western Michigan Christian girls’ basketball season came to an end on Wednesday night in a 61-51 loss to NorthPointe Christian in Division 3 district semifinal action.

The Warriors trailed 16-7 through the first quarter, 34-18 at halftime and 51-32 heading into the fourth.

“We had a great second half and fourth quarter tonight,” said WMC coach Sarah Koetsier. “I am so proud of how this team fought to get back in the game. Our season has been great and I am sad to see it end.”

Ashley Folkema led the team with 26 points and 11 rebounds. 

Kasey Folkema had seven points and four rebounds for the Warriors and Kirsten VanOrman chipped in six points and four steals.  Brynn Evans added six points.
