MANTON — The Mason County Central Spartan girls’ basketball team, despite having eight days off, turned in a solid performance on Wednesday night.

The Spartans topped Benzie Central 50-30 in a Division 3 district semifinal game at Manton.

The Spartans shook off any rust that might have accrued during their idle period by outscoring the Huskies 28-14 in the second half after leading 22-16 at the half.

Riley Mast scored a season-high 14 points and Wren Nelson recorded another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while adding three blocks. Mallory Miller chipped in six points.

Central improved to 19-4 and now faces tournament host Manton in the district championship game at 7 p.m. Friday night. Manton defeated Manistee 60-51 in the other semifinal Wednesday,
