Kent City girls’ basketball captured the CSAA conference tournament title on Thursday with a 45-33 win over host Morley Stanwood. 

The Eagles’ big win didn’t come easy as they trailed 12-6 after the first quarter. By halftime, they led 22-21. 

The second half was more Kent City as it limited Morley to single digits in the third and fourth quarters. 

Madelyn Geers led Kent City with 14 points, including 6-of 6 from the free-throw line. Hailey Kamphuis scored 13 points and Alyssa Miller and Laynee Hoffman scored six points each.
