SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Central girls’ basketball team jumped out to a big lead early and went on to defeat North Muskegon, 49-25 Tuesday night in Scottville.
It was a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division contest. The Spartans were celebrating Senior Night as the regular season draws to a conclusion with districts next week.
The Spartans established early command, outscoring the Norsemen 12-5 in the first quarter and they took a 24-9 lead into the half.
Mallory Miller led the Spartans with 17 points and Wren Nelson contributed 15.
North Muskegon was led by Marilyn Gaston with eight points.
Central improved to 18-4 overall and finished 10-2 in the conference. The Spartans now prepare to open the district at Manton next Wednesday when they play Benzie Central.
The Norsemen is now 12-9 overall and finished 7-5 in the conference. North Muskegon hosts Whitehall in a conference cross-over game from the WMC Lakes Division.
