HESPERIA – The North Muskegon boys basketball team continues to flex their muscle even in the district tournament.

On Friday night, North Muskegon took down White Cloud, 54-39, in the Division 3 district final.

It was a tight battle through three quarters, but the Norse found a spark and forced the Indians to extend their defense. The Norse used it to create separation and outscore the Indians 21-12 in the final quarter.

“White Cloud is a great disciplined team with some great shooters,” said North Muskegon coach Charles Rypstra. “Our guys have been executing really well and we needed everything tonight.”

Lamarkis Graham led the red-hot Norse with 20 points, five rebounds and four steals. Adam Dugener threw in 10 points and three assists, while James Young had eight points and four assists. TJ Byard added seven points and three blocks.

“The Indians’ KJ Strait was awesome tonight and he did everything he could,” said Rypstra.  “He never sat out.”

The Indians’ Noah Robinson put up 12 points and Strait scored 11 points. Jayden Robinson chipped in nine points.

North Muskegon (24-0) will be at Pewamo-Westphalia to face the host Pirates at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

White Cloud closed out the season 17-7.
