The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk softball team has been racking up their share of doubleheader sweeps of late.

It happened again on Saturday when the Jayhawks traveled to Delta Community College and brought out a 4-1 victory in the opener and 10-5 in the nightcap. On Friday, MCC defeated Delta in a doubleheader.

That string of success has pushed the Jayhawks’ record to 22-8 on the season.

In the opener, Brooklyn Galdeen pitched a strong seven innings. She allowed one run on seven hits and she had five strikeouts.

She also had a solid game at the plate with three hits, including a home run, two RBI and she scored two runs. Lilli Goodrich had a double and an RBI, Rachel Romero had a hit and scored a run and Illeana Hatcher scored once.

MCC unleashed some more offense in the nightcap, led by Willo Staal with three hits. She scored twice and knocked in one run. Hatcher had two hits and scored three times and Rachel Romero had a pair of hits and two RBI. Jasmine Pastor finished with a double and two RBI.

Goodrich took the mound and pitched a complete game. She allowed five runs on nine hits and finished with nine strikeouts.

The Jayhawks travel to Lake Michigan College for a 3 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday in another doubleheader.
