KENT CITY – Derek Rodenburg broke a 2-all tie with an RBI double in the fifth inning and the Kent City Eagles made it hold up in a 3-2 baseball victory over the visiting Shelby Tigers.

The fast-moving game on Thursday took just 75 minutes to complete.

Ryan Darling was the winning pitcher for the Eagles.

Trevor Weiss took the loss for the Tigers. Chase Siman and Neil Gowell each had two hits. Simon and Weiss each knocked in a run.
