FREMONT – The Fremont girls soccer team came out on top, 6-4, in a battle against Hart on Wednesday night.

The Packers outshot the Pirates, 11-9.

The Pirates’ Brooklyn Storms opened the scoring with a pair of goals early in the game. However, Mia Clemence answered back with three goals in a row to give the Packers the lead.

The first-half scoring continued as Addison Kokx took the lead back for the Pirates with a pair of goals to give them a 4-3 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Packers’ defense tightened up and did not allow another goal, while Taylor DeKuiper, Maddie Mater and Clemence netted a score apiece to steal the win.

Hallie Snyder and Kate Mellema split time in the net for the Packers with three and two saves, respectively.

The Pirates’ Emma Jeffries made five saves.

Fremont (9-1, 7-1) will be at home on Friday against Howard City Tri County.

Hart (8-6, 3-3) will travel to Cadillac Heritage Christian on Friday.
